    Skeeter Factory Boat Covers

Are the factory boat covers worth the money?

No complaints about mine. The ratcheting system is nice and as long as you prop the cover with the included props then it does what is supposed to. it trailers well

The only negative I’ve ever read or heard was on here. A guy complained about the rear hooks being metal and while unrolling the cover he was concerned it might chip the glass

so my tip would be to plasti-dip the rear hooks

Anyone know what the warranty period is on these covers? mine is 2 years old and is starting to come apart at the threads where the 2 flaps are on the stern

Ive been pleased with my cover. Only change I would make is having the velcro flap that covers the straps to fold down and not up.

I'm the guy that stated the thing about the buckles...yes the plastic coat works well. I am also the guy that said that the Velcro pockets for the ratchet straps should be redone so they pull upwards instead of downwards to access the ratchets...they presently allow way too much water inside the pocket and then keep it there and the ratchets are corroding to the point that they are approaching an unusable state. The cover is a 2016 and also is coming apart now at the seems at the rear. I do not recommend it and would not purchase another...

Mine is 16 years old, used daily in Texas heat, and still mostly functional. Well
worth the money. Or, at least they used to be.

I know this is an old thread but I have a brand new, never used, never even out of the factory shipping box and unfolded Skeeter factory FX21 cover. I traded my FX21 in and gave the buyer a nearly new shipping cover so I have the Skeeter cover for sale. I think these things cost close to $800 from Skeeter, I could be wrong and I would appreciate any input about what the actual cost new is. Anyway I need to sell this cover and get it out of my basement. If you're interested send me a PM with an offer. Thanks, ChooChooSnakeMan

My brother has a 2021 Skeeter cover and it's a lot heavier material than my brand new 2024. Mine has no decals or markings on it either. I'm not sure I would want to use it with my MegaLive/Target lock as it seems it could break or bend the shaft. Overall, it seems to be well made and I pretty much only use it when I have to leave the boat outdoors when traveling.

So far I have had several boats over the years and always have covered them when traveling in bad weather and of course just sitting around , But anyway travel wise I'm on my second skeeter with the factory cover and they seem to be the best travel covers I've had and yes I agree the ratchet straps covers would be nice the other way but I figure maybe there be a reason if they were would come undone and get tangled up somehow some way in the wheels, and dipping the cover hooks on the back of cover is the best thing to do why ---On one my other brand covers unhooked while traveling beat the heck out of the boat UGH

My cover ratchets rusted all to crap as well - bad design on that velcro flap for sure.

Ive not had any issues with quality covers, including the Skeeter one. Any quality one will be over $1,500 retail, but worth it. Like anything else, you still have to take care of it if you want it to last. If I trailered in the rain (or its really wet in the morning after a heavy dew), I always make sure I open it up to air dry within a day. Also good idea to open up the flaps to the ratchets and loosen them a bit to let them dry out as well.

Skeeter makes a great cover, no problems. I wish I could say the same about the boat, several problems.

I swapped my ratchets out to zinc plated crankers and that solved the rusting problem.

My only complaints are the metal hooks. Plasti dip is a great option. I wrapped mine in duct tape. LOL

Is it possible to purchase the cover directly from Skeeter for a 2nd owner?
