    Z9 Pumps

Afternoon, fella’s - OK, humour me for a moment: how many pumps “should” my 2013 Z9 have?

I have two separate livewells, with port and starboard fill switches, port and starboard recirc switches, and port and starboard pumpout switches. Separate to those, I have a bilge (auto/manual) switch on the panel.

My port pump out is not working: does it share same pump as starboard, or do both have their own pumps.

Any ideas or am I over complicating this?

    Thanks

8 pumps if I remember right. Same as most Tritons. Unless you have the red knob that you pull out on, that uses your recirculate pump to pump out but you said it had a switch just for pump out so It would be 8 pumps.

Each function has its own pump. They are easy replaceable cartridges

Thanks, fellas - 8 pumps yikes!!!!!

Boy, this is going to be a headache to get at. I flipped up the "trap door" to view the bilge area, and I only see one pump accessible at the moment - I'll do some surfing online to see if there are any videos showing how to access the pumps.

You will have to remove the bottom and or back black plastic plates to access them.

No 8 pumps is great! In a pinch you can swap them to gain a function that's important from something like pump out that isn't important

**Update**. - ok, appears all pumps work fine, however, the starboard pumpout light on touchpad lights up, but pump does not run. I plugged all pumps in other connections and run fine but the starboard pumpout power connector seems to not “connect” to any pump when tried.

I don’t see any kinks/cuts etc in the wire - any idea on how to proceed now??

Thanks for the assistance so far ………. PS - there were 6 pumps plus a bilge pump

I do not know if the touch pad is the problem or the wires.

Can you use a voltmeter to check the wires? I am not an electrical guy by any means but I think there should be a way to check to make sure the wires are carrying voltage like thy should. If you can eliminate that then maybe you can look into the switch itself?

Put a volt meter on the two wires, one lead on each wire going to pump....if you get pos and neg mixed you will just read neg voltage. Set meter to read DC voltage if not auto and hit the button for the pump. Volts will show when its on...not show when its off. If you see voltage toggle on/off...pump is bad...if no volts could be panel.
