Mounting location for new battery charger?

I have a 2017 Nitro Z20, currently I have a NOCO Gen4 four bank charger that is installed in the factory location, which is rear port side. Im upgrading to two 36v batteries and a dedicated electronics battery to take the spot of the three current batteries. The new charger, Impulse 12v/12v/36v three bank, is too long to fit in the factory spot. I was thinking of mounting on the floor underneath the rear pull out bin on the starboard side. Is there any issue with mounting the charger there? The only other place I could see it fitting is in the bilge area up against the plastic shroud that goes behind the live well tanks, which I don't know if it's sturdy enough. Any other ideas?

    Thanks

Wouldn't that be in an area suspectable to water flowing over it?

Yeah I would definitely not mount it to the floor of the boat. Get it up on a wall somewhere.

It doesn’t get wet under there often but I can see it being a possibility.

I was thinking of cutting a piece of starboard to extend my mounting surface a few inches. Basically I would mount the starboard to the wall of the boat, then screw the new charger to that. What thickness of starboard should I use?

    Here’s a pic for reference:

I did exactly that, cut starboard, was able to use the bottom for support. I was also able to extend a little bit past the edge. I used 1/2 inch for backing and 1/4 inch on bottom.

Is it not waterproof? I know the NOCO and the DualPros I have had were 100% sealed and waterproof. They could be mounted in the livewells and work just fine.

They are IP68, but mounting electronics anywhere there could be standing water is just a bad habit in my opinion.

Thanks for the help. Got around to mounting the new charger this weekend. I was able to mount it in the original spot by rotating it with the leads coming out of the top. It's about 3" off the bottom, hopefully the screws hold.
