How is oil metered to ficht engine/problem ???

I have now switched to XD100 in my 01 ficht (Model # at avatar). Good news is ITS RUNNING GREAT.
    Here is the question.

Is it possible that I am using more oil than before on XD50?
How is oil delivered to the engine?
Does the mixture change (I heard its 50:1 usually, but 100:1 at WOT)?
Can the system go bad and deliver too much?

This is because I got a low oil alarm and it seemed to be early for the amount of fuel I used.

It injects it straight to the block. You shouldn't be using any more than before. How low is the oil tank?

I looked at the tank yesterday and it is got about 2" at the bottom, That is about where it has been when the LOW oil light/alarm comes on. I am going to add 1 gal of xd100 and try to figure how much gas i use until the low oil comes on again.

Doesn't the oil get injected to the crank and some injected with the fuel in the fuel injector ? I also have an oil return line so I am guessing that is returned from the crankcase.

    Is that correct?

the oil return is just as the name implies, it returns unused oil back to the tank, it has not been recycled after being injected anywhere, it is just too much oil is supplied by the pump, so it needs to be sent back rather than "backing up" if you get what I mean.

OH and 2" from the bottom will be enough to set off the low oil alarm (or there abouts) it is still getting oil, but you are being reminded to top it up.

About two inches from the bottom of the oil tank is where the LOW OIL warning light and horn should come on, the oil injector provides oil to the engine through oil lines and the oil injector is cooled with oil so the oil return line delivers oil back to the oil tank at a rate greater than the supply required to lubricate the engine.

pretty good down here, we seem to be missing most of the hardship you guys have had 'up" there, some Boat shops and manufactures closing their doors, but overall, not too gloomy, coming into Winter now, so Boating will slow up a bit, nothing like Winter some of you guys experience, never heard of winterising here ever! anyway, sorry to side track this thread.

Thanks for the responses. I added one gallon yesterday with about 1/2 tank of fuel left. It holds about 70 gallons, so i should not hit the alarm again even if I run this tankful of fuel down very low. I am going to keep an eye on oil comsumption and see. I'll post again with results....
    Thanks again.

the amount of fuel you have is in no way related to the low oil alarm, LOW OIL is telling you to top up the oil you can have a full tank of fuel or no fuel, it has nothing to do with the fuel tank (I hope I read you last question right)

the only accurate way to check fuel consumption with oil usage is to fill BOTH the boat and the oil tank completely, then run the boat for at least 2 tanks of fuel to get a good average. Keep track of all the added fuel and oil.

Engine temperatures, driving habits, hard accelerations, oil pressure regulator, and restrictions in the oil return system all affect the oil consumption of the motor.
