    Ranger livewell problems

    Hello,
I have a 2009 Z 520C. When I put the livewell switch to recirculate the livewell drains.
When I pull the red valve inside the livewell out, to pump out, nothing happens.
Are these issues related to the valve in the bottom of the transom area? Or the red valve in the livewell?
I noticed water in the battery area, when I tried the pump out .
    Any feedback is appreciated.
    Brian

The rubber flappers in the valve body do get hard and won't work properly and need to be changed out periodically, they will cause issues. That could be the case with yours but sounds more like a broken or cracked fitting the way you describe it.

16 years is a long time for a livewell plumbing system, and there could be more than one reason why yours isn’t working properly. I imagine that Ranger dealers aren’t thick in Connecticut, but if you can get hold of a knowledgeable one, they can go through that and fix it up like new. Having witnessed the service techs at my dealer’s shop working on livewell problems, I’d say that they can be just as tricky to solve as electrical problems in boats. Well-established dealerships earn their money by saving you a lot of time.

Thanks for the feedback. Yes 16 years is a long time, time to upgrade the entire livewell system.
Ill try replacing the cable, and the main valve first.

I found the problem. The hose coming out of the livewell that pumps the water out is completely broken
off from the fitting. It’s all the way in the rear if the bilge area. How do you access that area where it attaches to the fitting/ hole?
