Smartcraft Connect Question

2020 Mercury 250 Pro XS - 2B736340

I have both Garmin 126sv Ultra 2 and Smartcraft gauge at helm and would like to connect NMEA 2k (I have that setup already) to the motor using either SmartCraft Connect under helm OR SmartCraft Connect under cowling. I prefer setting up under helm if possible. See photo of the back of my SmartCraft gauge.

Check your key switch harness and see if it has a big extra plug there. Thatll solve half of your issue if so

Really need to see a full-size image of the back of that instrument (Smartcraft is a "technology", not a specific gauge). Will need to determine what that is you're using in order to provide accurate suggestions.

If it turns out to be a MercMonitor, follow the harness connected to the back of the gauge. It connects approximately 2.5 - 3' away from gauge to either an "adapter" or a Junction Box.

Either way, we should be able to spec out the correct components for Smartcraft Connect HELM for you. See Rhonda's post, pinned at the top of the Forum: If you drop her an email with the info above, we can set you up with exactly what you need.

You'll need a 5-gang J-box and Smartcraft Connect (helm), and will need one (1) NMEA-2K tee to add the drop to your network.

Im about to do all this myself. Got the j box and cables but not the connect just yet. Im sure ill need help with mine as i got a few sensors like fuel and oil levels

Where did you order that from?

There's a reason I didn't mention a 4-gang J-Box: They're obsolete, discontinued and have been replaced (some time ago) with a better design 5-gang.
