    Harris Chain suggestions...

Looking like I'll be heading down to the Brooksville area next week, and noticed I'll bascially be driving right by the Harris Chain of Lakes... Even though Jack Frost has taken Florida hostage it seems, I'm considering taking a day and stopping by the HCOL as I've never been.

So, for someone who's never been there - what's a good option for a drop in for the day... any particular lake or ramp? Not being familiar with the area and all the canals and such I figure best to pick a lake and launch there and stay in it for the most part... The less running the better I would think based on the temps forecast for next week :(.

I’ve had some good days and bad days. Fished mostly Harris and Eustis , a couple of times on Dora. Overall it’s been slow. Fished Harris yesterday, and caught some on worms 8-12 feet. A buddy caught a few shallow in eel grass.
    Going again tomorrow.

What size/type of worms are working? Shaky, curly, Texas-rigged, weight etc? Am not used to fishing this time of year here and not sure what to expect. Thx

So I am more a Crappie guy then Bass, but I have fished Florida every Winter for the past 8 yrs. and also a have a fishing buddy who lived and fished the Harris chain for 5 yrs. If You ask a Floridian what to use to catch big Florida strain Bass, He will tell you a Shiner under a bobber, and as boring as it sounds ists what they like. Ive seen 8- 10lb fish out of the St.Johns back water.
