    Fishing Reports

You guys kill me!! That was one thing I liked about the "ole delphi board" the idea was to "share" where you went, what you did, patterns, lures etc...so that everyone could enjoy fishing and catching.....

What you all are posting....that's not a fishing report...that's a catching report!!! Everyones so into the "money" no one wants to give up their little secrets...............geeeesh!! Silly boys!!

Like Bill has been trying to get you all to do so we can all enjoy the day........whereda ya go.....whatca use....conditions.....etc., etc., etc.,

    So.......how bout some sharing!

Ok here ya go.....not that we killed them....Chip and I fished the region on gaston yesterday....Fished main lake points and caught fish on a Limon Rat'L'trap....and red bandit 200....fished between eatons ferry and lizzard creek.....Caught two good fish within 10 mins of each other on one point....Didnt get in the money but had a load of fun. If you ever get the chance to fish with Chip....take the offer....great partner. Every fish we caught except for one that morning was a keeper.

    Re: Fishing Reports (BassnCop)

There is a substantial difference between this and the old Delphi page, the # of eyes looking at this board everyday is unbelievable, it is hard for me to justify giving away my areas, patterns, etc. when it is my time and $ that go into locating these areas. I do want everyone to catch fish but when you have taken the preverbial "knife to the back" as many times as i have then it becomes difficult to trust people with what you know. There are a lot of long unpreductive days that go into fishing in order to have those days that everyone is envious of, and it those days when you are by yourself for 8, 10, 12 hours and can't by a bite that really teach you to fish and adapt, and force you to learn new methods and areas. i don't see people lining up for what you know when you return from one of those days. There are several people on here i consider firends and will help out all i can, but those people also have to have a respect for what you share with them, it is thier responsibility to make sure the info goes no farther. I fish because i love it i share with those i share with because i respect them and consider them trust worthy individuals, others i am still trying to get a feel of. I also do not expect for a TOURNAMENT angler whether it be BASS or a clubber to ask for info first then attempt to find his own fish second. I ask for specific info as a last resort, and am very hesitant to do so then. Finally more than asking for info i prefer to trade info, then i feel there is more of a trust there when you each understand there is a chance of losing valuable info. It isn't a matter of not wanting to tell anymore it is a matter of not being able to afford to because it cost you much more than one other person fishing your areas or techniques, there are a lot less fish to be had DownEast and a lot more people after them and that isn't a good situaion for swapping key fishing info. Sorry this is so long and it isnt at all meant in ill spirits, just wanted to defend my lack of sharing

Joyce,I don't mind someone sending me a PM asking for help,if,they help me in return.I'm just tired of spending alot of $$ and time prefishing and giving all kinds of info to just anyone.Just my take on that...remember Raymond, all the years fishing the Chowan and he tells all his buddies.

    Re: Fishing Reports (BassnCop)

I agree for the most part..One reason sticks in my mind till this day..I went to Jordan to prefish with a buddy, I had been catching some good fish on a certain point, they had been there for a few days, and have been there that particular time of year for the last 3 years....Come tourney time we had over 20 pounds and won the tournament .A weekend later I had another tournament there but it was a single person tournemant, I went out the day before and who do I find on that point??..The same buddy with another person in his boat..The part that really pissed me off was he wasn't fishing a tournament, or even pre fishing. He just had to show this fella that point, when I saw him..He automatically knew he had been caught..or maybe it was the fact I took my boat and ran a few circles around him, then left the area..Never spoke to him again after that..been 2 years now..and I still wouldn't fish with him, nor share anything of fishing spots or baits..I do share some info with folks on here, usually IM's, because I know they share in return, and spend the same amount of money pre fishing as I do..

    Re: Fishing Reports (VMAXn20)

I'm a big fan of sharing info, but not one to spread info I receive from others. I appreciate the amount of time one has to put in to locate fish consistantly. Mike Allen and Lea Blake have both given me a bunch of help, info, and spots to fish since I moved here and I wouldn't think of handing that out to others. Heck, I called Mike a couple of weeks ago to ask permission to fish some of his spots in my club Tx.

I'd like to see the VA Fishing Reports lay out generic info ie; fish were out on the deep end of the points, fish have moved up shallow staging to spawn, fish are in the backs of the coves..... etc. Obviously water temp and color would help alot too.
Don't give specific baits and locations, just give a person enough info that they can look forward to going out and maybe find some fish.

The best part of moving to this area for me has been the VA/NC BBC crowd. Greg Vick took me in for a dinner at the Firehouse while I was up here working. And Jack walked up to me at the ramp one morning and introduced himself, said he figured it was me when he saw the GA plates Then he introduced me to Patrick and a couple of others. I feel like I've known Joyce and Lea forever now. And Perry (SprintLover) is my competition!

Sorry for being so long, just want to let you all know that this group and your fishing info is appreciated.

    Re: Fishing Reports (billybass)

It isn't a matter of the lakes to me as much as it is the rivers, i can tell you general things to look for. But there isn't a whole lot of what i fish (Mike A can attest to that) so in most cases with my info it cant help but give away more than i want it to. For Example, I can say look for a point around 12ft. deep near a spawning creek that narrows the search greatly on the Chowan River, and it doesn't take much to fall right onto that pattern. If you said up river or down that would narrow it even more, so much so to the point where it could be found in a day or 2, throw in an idea of how to catch them and you can run the few points there are all day throwing a "whatever" then you are from that point on sharing my water, and i don't believe you or 99% of the people on this board would willingly give away info, but if you see a man bring in a good bag of fish you immediatley look for his boat, and try to recall where his boat was seen and then word of mouth before you know it, it is a free for all race to your spots! Trust me i know this from last year with a certain group i fish against!
Now if i gave the exact same info about Gaston or Kerr, it wouldn't tell you much, b/c there are tons of "points near spawning areas" you could spend the rest of your life trying to find a particular spot and no do it. I believe when asking you have to take into context where you are asking about nand be very careful in exactly what you ask! Sorry for long windedness, but i hate to make myself out to sound like more of an azzhole then what i am!!
