SystemCheck Commander Tachometer has reset total used fuel and "Engine hours"

    I have a problem with my motor instrument. My motor is a Etec 225HO year 2005. (E225DHLSO - S.NO. 05119785).

The motor has run for about 40 hours when the digital display showed up with a new text og sign. I pushed the "M" bottom and got a beep and every thing was reset to zero. The instrument contiued counting but from zero. I have had no other problems with the motor.

The local dealer has no experience with this instrument and took contact to the danish importer. They claimed that they didn't have any experience too with this instrument. The dealer was told from the importer that I should take a look in the owners manual. It is proberly a matter of miss operation.

The owners manual say nothing about how to reset the Engine hours to zero.

How do I get the hours back to the gauge? Please Help.

    Best regards

    Brian

We are here to help, While Seahorse is better with the guage questions I have a question of my own.

Has the EMM been checked to see if the hours are cleared from it also?

Thanks Rusty. I realy appreciate it.

The EMM has not been checked. I have wondered my self and I asked for it but the local dealer told me it wasn't possible for me to clear it.

Like Rusty said, the EMM should be checked first. As for the gauge, I've never setup or used the Commander gauge on an E-TEC, only the digital I-Commands. Sorry!

Your dealer can not clear the hours as he stated but he needs to see if the hours are still correct in the EMM.

    Does this make since?

the Commander style gauge is analog and reads engine "run" hours but not off of the EMM. The hours cannot be reset.

The EMM has now been checked by the dealer. It has all the information. 60 engine hours but the System-check Commander Tachometer shows only 17 hours.
My dealer didn't know the instrument or how to reprogram it.

Does anyone know if it's possible to get the hours back on the clock?
