    Apex backlight in daytime

With an Apex 13 and the screen backlight turned down to 1, does anyone know how you can set it back up to 10 during the day? If the backlight is down to 1 during the day, you can't see the screen to...change the backlight. That is, the only way that I can find to increase the backlight is through the Apex menus, but when you can't see the screen to see the menus, that doesn't do much good.

I've gotten out of this by hitting the power button that I know brings up the menu with backlight adjustment, and then stabbing away until on a lucky occasion I hit the "+" sign. but it's really annoying that there isn't a quick shortcut to just set the backlight to 10. Unless there is and I don't know about it, which is why I'm asking.

This has happened to me three times. Once, was the next day after a night tournament and I had forgotten to set the backlight back up to 10 before shutting the units off. The other two times I believe it was some strange interaction with "Standby Mode"

I've done this a few times myself. Quick press the power button and turn the rotary dial clockwise. I'm not sure what version of software you are on, but there was one or two early versions of the 5.xxx software where the Rotary Dial wasn't working like it had in the past. That has been resolved with the last couple of updates though.

You can also put a towel or blanket over you and the control head to give you more darkness to see the screen.
