That walleye, it was +5 temp out, one o'clock in the morning snowing bad, total white out and I was hitting them on crankbaits! Big baits!!
I got her back in right after one pic and ice was forming on her! I had bigger on and lost a lot, a lot bigger- record size fish!![]()
NOW you got me going!!! What if I said, there are walleye out there in the great lakes over 40"!! World records! People will say your nuts!! Well, a saw them! I had one on, on nov. 2009- wed. night before deer gun season, 2 am in the morning, had my hands on him trying too land him by hand, with all the ice - forgot the net, and I do not want too think about it anymore!! And for the smallmouth, I heard the stories of the 27" smallmouth but I have not seen them myself! I'm going this weekend and I'm taking the big baits!!![]()

The size is great (on the walleye), but they fight about as much as dragging up a tube sock half full of mud. Maybe in the colder weather they do better?? In general, I consider them about the laziest fish that swims. Not in all cases, just in general. You see guys draggin' up 2-3 lb'ers on tv and they just spiral up like a bent worm on a straight retrieve, snagged in the side of the face from a half hearted attempt at a "bite".
Ok, I've had me fun.![]()
Seriously....nice fish!!!![]()
