    Normally a Mercury Dealer, or another owner that happens to have a spare gearcase. Depending on which 225 you have, yours may be one of the less-expensive models (note I did not say "inexpensive").

    As for SEI... you don't want those. Chinese aftermarket knockoffs.

    If you determine what unit you need I'm sure you can find one in the 1-1800. range. You just need to look, I got a super low hour verado take off from a blown engine for 1600. With warranty. Stay away from the sei

    859399T13 is what you need. Any authorized dealer can get you one, they're readily available from Merc currently.
