I need help again! I bought a 1991 stroker project boat with a Evinrude 200 XP. I finally got all the cables, wiring and odds and ends ran and hooked up, everything looked good, I turned the key and she fired and purred like a big cat but at about half throttle to full it falls and misses bad, could someone maybe point me in a direction to check, I was told that it could be my power pack?

All new fuel lines, gas tank completely cleaned out and flushed, new primer bulb, new plugs, carbs cleaned, checked fuel lines no kinks and the vent looks good.
So I thought it might be electrical, something to due with spark maybe?

Did you do a link N sync on your carbs when you put them back on?

I have a 200xp, that does sound very familiar, I did end up needing a power pack. But those kind of issues could be other things as well I am sure.

I actually had the carb work done at a local boat shop so I'm not sure, he put it back together after doing the carbs and checking compression, then I ran the cables and wiring while he went to Fork fishing, I got it runing with this problem and he's not due back until this Sun. so I was hoping to fix it myself. Seems like everytime I take into the shop it cost $500. Thanks for your help, I'll ask him when he gets back.

sound like the SLOW mode is skicking in. do you have an alarm horn and if so, is it working properly?

Read up on the SLOW feature for your motor and it's reasons for kicking in. May find your answer.

I put on a power pack today and it runs like a new one. Thank you for your help, this boat turned into a bigger project (and money) that I had planned on so much for good deals.

It always costs more than you expect... A deal is a deal... that kind of stuff can happen on any motor, at least you started out with less into it!! Glad it's running, that is a GREAT motor.
