    Leaking thermostats

    250 pro xs 2b116638

I saw joe posted on another thread to pull the dump hoses start the cold motor and nothing should come out. Well I did that while hooked to the hose. Small stream came out from both. I did see the temperature come and thermostats opened. I my house water isn’t as cold as the river. I did pull them and took them apart but couldn’t see anything. New stats shouldn’t leak any water on cold start up?

If Smartcraft temperature comes up to 120*-130* at idle speed, then the slight leakage is fine.

I have low water pressure at hose. Water temperature down here is in the fifties. Sometimes motor doesn’t warm up over 90 on the water. Getting more frequent. Seems like at times on water they must leak more. Going to get a new oem set. Wonder if they will leak

If your engine isn't coming up to at least 120° at idle you risk cold seizure.

    They may leak slightly.

+1... probably about a 1/16" stream of water.
