    LEGEND !!

I would say The "family" at Legend has done well.

MIDWAY, AR, July 28, 2011 – Legend Boats LTD today announced the purchase of a new 75,000 square foot state-of-the-art manufacturing facility located in North Central Arkansas. The facility is set to house all production and operations of the company, and will completely replace the current factory.
Since inception in 2002, Legend Boats has seen incredible customer response, driving the demand of Legend Boats to an all time high. “Sales of our boats are through the roof, and we just can’t keep up with the demand in our current facility the way we’d like to; we need more space.” said President Randy Qualls. Legend Boats currently resides in a 20,000 square foot facility in Midway, AR and produces approximately 300 boats per year.

“I’m thrilled about our transition into the new facility.” claimed Lou Ovalle, Legend Boats’ Plant Manager. “I’ve been in the bass boat industry for over 25 years and I’ve never seen a facility like the new Legend Boats plant. It’s going to afford us the opportunity to be the absolute best we can be, both in terms of producing the absolute highest quality product on the market, and maximizing our efficiency in getting boats to our dealers and customers.”

In nearly 10 years of business, Legend Boats has experienced tremendous success, and the outlook for the future is even greater. Current production schedules have lead times at nearly 16 weeks on new orders due to overwhelming demand, so the new manufacturing facility is an absolute necessity.

The new facility is located just minutes away from the current Legend factory in Midway, AR, and provides the same excellent location in the heart of the bass boat-building universe just outside of the town of Mountain Home. Historically known for its bass boat building roots and incredibly experienced labor force, the Mountain Home area has been and will continue to be a perfect location for Legend Boats.

Randy is a good guy, a good fisherman, and has worked from the bottom up to get to where he is financially. Took a chance on the boat building deal, got some good folks to work with, & for him, took care of those folks and his customers and it has paid off.
His partner Dean is a heckuva guy too. Just a super pleasureable person to be around.

Great to hear news like that as opposed to "Mega company that knows nothing about building boats buys another boat builder". Thanks for the story Troy, I wish those guys all the best

Any boat manufacturer moving up in the world, in this economy, is a major accomplishment.

    Re: (Charlie206)

I think one reason for the success was due to moving the plant back to the Mountain Home area. Lots of great bass boat craftsmen in that area. Legend was on my very short list when I was looking. I've never met Randy either, but his very positive reputation is widely and well known.

    Re: (Tx Champ)

I used to say if I ever bought a new boat, it would be either a Champion or a Legend. Not sure about Champion under the current situation, so if I ever hit the jack pot, or all the kids get out of college, I guess it is down to Legend.
