Anyone ever use vinyl paint to color a seat in a car or boat??

Thinking of using some vinyl paint to color a butt seat , does that stuff work and will it last for a while ??

I used it on an old golf cart seat years ago and it last pretty good. The cart was outside in the elements all the time. I would think your butt seat would stay nice longer than my old cart seat.

I would think the paint is better than it was back when I used it.

I did years ago on a seat cover in a race car that I had. I was surprised how well it held up.

Did an entire interior in a 71 Charger from Puke Green to Black. That was in 1986, it lasted at least three years. I would imagine its better today.

My buddy used it on his boat seats and I believe it was 4-5 years before he had to eventually replace the seats.

Yes! Use SEM. I had my seat reupholstered and did not like the color. Decided to use SEM to change the color. It’s been looking great for over 4 years.

I never knew this was a thing. I would have not thought this would hold up. Good to know.

I did my pleasure boat seats back in the 90's from light grey to brown using automotive dye from a spray gun. It held up extremely well.

It holds up pretty good, but also makes the vinyl stiff.

It will only be on a butt seat, so stiffness won't be that much of a big deal..

I did my butt seat it worked fine. After a thorough cleaning with alcohol I sprayed 3 or 4 coats allowing to dry between coats.

Does the paint have UV protection?
