    Gibbons Creek

Got there around 6:45, we were the 6th boat on the lake. Got delayed a little because my drain plug decided to go dancing around the bilge (3 new nylon plugs on order). I started off chucking watermelon/candy lizards & Gail was chuckin a watermelon frog. Got nibbles on both so I figured watermelon something was the order of the morning. The fish were really active in the pads, boils left & right. We both ended up tossin 6" watermelon/pepper curly tails, getting bites on every other cast & boating a few. All dinks but they hit like fish 3 times their size, incredibly spunky & all close to the boat. Some were on the edges, some were deep inside the pads. Love pad hoppin, had a bunch of decent lookin fish roll on em up top & miss. Gonna go through my stash & shop a little for some plastics that will pull more out. Can't wait to get a decent Gibbons bass if the little critters feel like 3lb strikes

    Re: Gibbons Creek (pYr8)

My nickels worth .. (inflation you know )

I like the reservoir. The ramp is wide enough for 4 vehicles (I got some practise putting the Stratos in the water - badly needed!! )

My only complaint is that I find the heat to be a little too much for me. Wish we were able to rig up some sort of "unobtrusive" umbrella for relief from the sun which would still allow me to cast my line. A recently acquired "neck tie" with some water absorbing granules in it has made it more comfortable.

The scenery is good & the power station's emission stack gives a clear indication of how much wind there is. We have fished it twice & I look forward to going back

BTW, Karl did not add anything new to his fishing repertoire! (duckin & runnin')

Yeah, bedecked with baits & sprayed "Bang" garlic spray .. maybe will keep the mossies away but attract flies!
