    Yep 5 year old house that has been through IKE it lasted this long. Thank god for the neighbor having a spare window unit

    Chris, don't know the situation but are you sure the "unit" is bad?
    Start solenoid or capacitor maybe?? A long shot but an electrical connection can do some crazy things too

    I feel for ya. I worry about mine everyday. I thing Churchill used ours before they installed it in our house. Good thing is, it will still make you drag covers in the middle of the night. Hope you get yours up and ginning soon.

    Few years back I had a unit go out in one of the cabins and hunters were starting to show up. 1st bunch that showed had and HVAC guy and they were in his truck with his tools. He fixed it in about 20 minutes...His hunt was free, he really saved me...Talk about luck..
