AT-1 with 3 in 1 on the trolling motor

Currently running a 3 in 1 on the trolling motor and fixing to install an AT-1. I have two HDS-12 Lives on the bow and plan to dedicate one to the AT-1 and the other to the 3 in 1.

Any of you guys running a setup like this. Any issues I need to pay attention to?

Thanks in advance for your comments

Nothing noteworthy stands out - the AT is actually connected from the Module to a MFU via ethernet, so if you have the units networked you can see AT1 and/or 3n1 views on either unit, as well as console units assuming all are networked. Live's have two ethernet ports so it's fairly simple setup to network, once you get over the cost of the damn cables lol.

You will have interference on screen when running both at the same time, but it's not horrible. Typically a flashing sonar ring on the AT screen which you soon adjust to not really paying attention to, tbh. HDS Pro and AT2 have provisions to eliminate this (ping sync) which works very well. You may also see some interference from a non-brushless TM like Fortrex or Ultrex, so be sure to mount the AT transducer high enough above the motor (8" or more iirc). If using a brushless you'll have no issues though.

You may want to wire in a On/Off switch for the yellow wake up wire - this allows you to turn off the AT module completely when not using AT, saving battery draw. I've got one wired in, but tbh I never really use it - it's always on. But if you are on the edge of battery capacity it might be beneficial. Or you can just wire it in with the red power wire, but you will need some other way to power everything off at the end of the day like a master battery switch.

Other than that, just be sure not not to pinch the AT Transducer cable, ie no zip ties around it and the shaft. Use Elec tape or any of the custom solutions for the AT cable, ie from DD26, Ampd, or cable zip ties with the hoop built in to go around cables, etc. Leave enough slack or a loop like any other externally mounted transducer.

Can't think of anything else... be sure to use the stop sonar function when pulling the TM out of the water. There are several Lowrance "gurus" on the forum that might step in and add some more info - BassHopper, NoCal, Marc and Colibri are all very Lowrance-savy members.

What trolling motor? What kind of boat and what do you fish for? What electronics and transducers do you have at the console? Are all units connected by ethernet and NMEA?

I run a 3in1 on a Ulterra and AT1 on a pole near the trolling motor. If I point the AT1 to the port side, no interference. If i point 11 to 1, i get some interference. Its ok but I have lowrance remote and turn off the 3in1 w no issues. I’m pretty happy w the setup. I’m usually casting from 9-11 which works good. I’ve got the AT1 on foot control, works great. I’m using an 9 and 12 live setup at the bow…. Hope this helps…

Before you add the AT set the TM to Prop In, Then install. Mount the transducer as far up the shaft as possible and still be in the water. Approx 12 in from top of motor to bottom of AT bracket this will keep you from dealing with noise from the brushed motor on MK. This is recommended from Lowrance a tech bulletin was sent out on this topic. You can start lower like 7in as long as you have cable setup for moving it up if you have interference. Make sure you have the very latest updates on units and AT Module 23.3v with nov date. Good luck and have fun.
