    LOZ in October

Hey guys, I'll be at loz the 3rd week in Oct for the bfl regional event and have a couple general questions I'm hoping you can answer.

What are the water temps generally that time of year, 60's or higher?
Do they school up and get on bait fish pretty well?
Docks still a factor that late in the year?

Never seen the lake, this will be my first time there so just wondering what it's like there vs here for that time of year, thanks in advance.

On the upper end (I live at the 84 mm), I cannot recall the temperature for sure, but I thought in the lower 60s. Find docks in shallow water (I like the docks at the end of the cove) with shad around them. There should be a lot of visible shad on the surface. I use spinnerbaits and bass should be on the corner of docks. You will have to catch more shorts but will also catch keepers.

Thank you, I appreciate the reply and suggestion.

Water temps are hit and miss as Missouri can be iffy with weather that time of year. Fish will be in the fall transition so just follow those patterns and find the shad. Buzzbaits, Cranks, jerkbaits, plastic jigs etc.

BFL is probably out of PB2 (I didn’t look it up before posting) and in that general area of the lake there are a lot of docks. The higher you go in mile markers the fewer docks you’ll see. PB2 is also surrounded by the LOZ State Park which is 95% undeveloped shoreline.

Best of luck, enjoy your first trip.
