    Lowrance Hook 9 - 3 way transducer on tin boat?

    I am looking at a Lowrance Hook 9 with a Triple Shot transducer. I have an 18 Monark aluminum boat and I am wondering about the proper way to mount the transducer and the performance I can expect. Will I be able to read the depth, etc. on plane? ....please HELP!! TIA -Dave

    Tripleshot is a crap transducer, getting any readings while on plane with would require a bit of luck and a lot of fine-tuning of the transducer.

    Make sure you make or buy a plastic transducer mounting board,I made mine W6"L8"x1"thick.I moved my transducers around the board quite a bit before I was happy. See a lot of older aluminum boats up here with holes peppered in the transoms filled with sheet metal screws plastic washers and caulking.
