    Jackplate: Atlas or Bobs

Looking at adding a Atlas or Bobs to my Ranger518L with twin blades. What is easiest with poles, will I need to buy new brackets regardless of what jackplate I go with? Best jackplate? Any thoughts? Thanks!

I have owned both. Bob’s is smoother and faster based on my experience

Either brand should work, and basically be a direct replacement for what you have now (as long as you have a manual, jack plate, which I’m assuming you do). Both have their advantages but bobs probably the better one overall

Bob's is a great company to deal with also. They'll take the time to answer any questions you have about their product or to help trouble-shoot an issue.

I've had both never any problems with either one. Atlas does come predrilled for Power Pole brackets not sure about Bob's.

They both are predrilled but I redrill my own holes to move the brackets as close to the transom as they can be. On both my 521's I can pull kill switch at 70 and not one drop of water will come over the back.
