if you had to buy one what would you choose?
I think mine's on the blink. It was acting crazy a couple weeks ago, the screen would start distorting. Took it to the hospital and the nerd feller said he never got it to act up once, it works fine.
Have had it on for about 4 hrs now and no problems.
But I think I'm gonna start kickin tires on a new one. Think I want a bigger picture on the next one, this one is 15" I believe.

I got a 17" now and will go back to a 15". The damn thing is a brick plus y'all have to get a new pc bag. I would buy ether a Toshiba or an Asus.
i just bought for my youngest daughter an Asus. It is nice for her to do her school work on an other things. It's not a gaming pc thats why it didn't cost me an arm and leg ether. Got it at Best buy.
The reason I picked her an Asus laptop is because anytime I build a desktop pc for someone I use Asus mother boards. You build them and hey don't come back.
Quit pecking around on it drunk, problem solved...

Mac book is the chit and Jeff is right. I want one myself. My oldest has one and said she will never go back to MS Windows again. The kicker on Mac is the price a nice 15" Mac book pro is around $2100.00.
The only thing Troy is I don't know if like the program you have that has all your gps points and maps on it will operate with Mac. Want I am saying is I don't think the progams your have are offered in Mac.
Mac book is good, I just bought an iPad and like it more than my laptop by far.
Ah damn Rangerman you should have waited for the new version of the iPads. My daughter is and Apple nut. The new ones will have more ports and options. We was gonna buy one for her at Christmas but she said wait and wanted other stuff cause the new new one coming out.

I paid $650 for this one 5 yrs ago. I don't believe I need to spend much more than that to get a decent machine. May just get another like it and if it lasts 5 yrs that would be 1300 bucks for 10 yrs.If I spent 1300 or more on a new one now you reckon it would last 10 yrs.

Robert I 'think" most every program gives you an option to load, download, whatever to Windows or Mac. I think

If they do Troy I would check. Mac's are a nice machine. You would have a learning curve with Mac.
The laptops you bought 5 years ago are better built the now. Reason being cost cutting comes at a price. Laptops today are built to last about 2 years. Don't buy anything made by Acer. I had one and it didn't make 6 months.
