    Joshua 10:13

Joshua 10:13 states that the sun stopped in the sky. Do you think this happened?

The book of Joshua is a very detailed book to many miracles God shows to the Hebrews when they first enter the promised land. I know that this sounds like an impossibility to some, but is anything really a challenge for God that created all things visible and invisible.
BTW, you may also want to read Isaiah 38:8 and 2 Kings 20:1-11. Since God is all-powerful, rearranging the orbit of the Earth would be no difficulty at all. However, many believe that this miracle could have simply been a local event in Judah, rather than a planetary event. They point out that this miracle occurred “in the land” of Judah (2 Chron. 32:31). It could have been “a simple localized refraction of the sun’s rays” or a “geographically localized miracle.”

I do, as ALL things, the sun, the cosmos, the wind and the waves are ALL under His absolute control and authority. If God wanted the sun to hang for a day or so in the same spot in the sky, then I believed it happened. Do not overlook the large hailstones that pummeled the Amorites to death which is another miraculous event. One day, when we are all standing before God with Jesus at His righthand, I cannot help but to think we will finally understand how truly under His control His creation really is. It’s harder to wrap my mind around the creation of the cosmos vs minor changes and tweaks.

Yes that's what it says in the Bible so it's true.

God created the sun and earth so he can stop it if He wants.

Absolutely, we see "unnatural" phenomenon all through the Bible. Several stated above by digthemup. We see it at the crucifixion of Jesus as well. Darkness from the 6th to the 9th hour (my opinion I don't think humans can look at what full wrath is being poured out). The scripture of Isa 38:8 is very interesting and right now I hold an opinion this was quite significant. Again, this is an opinion but working my way through and studying the Bible it was around this period when civilizations all around the world calendar/day changed. In Egypt , China, India, and at some point even in the Americas. If the Bible says it I believe it is true.

I don't think the sun "stopped" in the sky. I don't think the sun moves. I believe the earth rotates.

Found this searching, "does the sun move". -

The Sun orbits the center of the Milky Way, bringing with it the planets, asteroids, comets, and other objects in our solar system. Our solar system is moving with an average velocity of 450,000 miles per hour (720,000 kilometers per hour). But even at this speed, it takes about 230 million years for the Sun to make one complete trip around the Milky Way.

That is good stuff. I believe that. I was thinking about our solar system, with the planets revolving around the sun. So do you think God stopped anything for a while?

Since I do not know whether or not we have any astrology experts in our forum, personally I could not say which exactly would need to stop, however, if your question would have been " Do I think God could have stopped anything He desires" I would say affirmative.

Everything in the Bible is true. If you don't believe that you may want to find another forum. It seems like you are trying to cause unbelief with your posts I have seen. This forum is named "Increasin Our Faith"

1Holeshot ask me a question, I answered. I get criticized for not answering questions, then criticized for answering them. Did the Lord guide you on that response?

Most of your posts in here seem to be questioning whether scripture is true. All scripture is God breathed and is true. This forum is for increasing our faith not questioning scripture. Please move on if your going to troll Bible believing brothers and sisters.

    Rex,
Keep your questions to the OP, since you were the one that posted it. Gary is making it very clear, that perhaps do to your lack of believe in anything God has given us as our guide for life, this forum is not to your benefit.

Rev 6:13 says the stars fell to the earth. Do you think that is possible?

Keep your question in relation to the original posting you posted.

This is not related to the original post

As a person who questioned many things about what my church believes about the rapture (which, as you know I believe stands in opposition to what scripture says), infant baptism, etc., I see the value in constantly questioning what I believe is correct against what the Bible says. If questions are intentionally pointed and meant to defame the Word of God (which I am not accusing anyone of doing, just making a point) we are still talking about God’s Word and sharpening our own understanding and beliefs.

As far as what John saw in Revelation, we have to keep in mind he was detailing his observations from the perspective of a first century man. Had Neil deGrasse, Hawkins or some other brilliant astrophysicist observed what John had observed, I am certain it would have been described in a much different way. I watched an excellent documentary on the reversing of the earth’s polls and how the stars would appear to “fall” as the earth rotated, maybe that’s it? Maybe what he saw was meteorites falling to earth? Maybe the creation of a new earth and a new heaven made it appear as if the stars were falling to the earth? One day we will all know the answer to that question. I just pray we do not suffer too many horrors between now and then.
