Is fishing at Lake Travis worth spending a week there? Won a trip to Texas. Can stay at Lake Travis or near San Antonio. Stay at San Antonio and drive to lakes or spend full week at Travis?? Have not been any where but Falcon in Texas. Lokking for opinions, Thanks.
Lake Travis is beautiful. But, if it were me, I would go to San Antonio and spend a week on Choke!!! You have a shot at catching a hawg!!! Several 10 to 15 pounders are caught there every year. You won't do that on Travis.

San Antone for sure. Got to drive to do some fishing but the fishing is better. River Walk is a blast. If you get a chance go to Howl At The Moon on the river walk, you'll have a blast. Take the drive one day to Amistad and fish, beautiful lake and the fishing is great.
I live approx 30 minutes from Lake Travis, and wouldn't hesitate to make the 2 1/2hr trip to Choke if I had a choice. What time of year were your looking at coming down this way? Besides on Choke you aren't having to deal with the cigarette boats and jet skiers running up and down the lake.

Like everyone says, GO TO CHOKE! Lake Travisesty is not the place to get a big bass.
You can always make the drive to Amistad also.

If we dont get some substantial rain soon, none of the lakes are gonna get used.
