    Quest availability

I would not get into pre order game myself, but for kicks I have been looking around and have seen where a few of the bigger outfits have been talking about shipping in 3 to six weeks! The Mega Live pre-order mess is still pretty fresh in my mind, but a couple places I have trusted in the past myself are taking orders. Will be nice to start hearing about real world reviews. Bob

I’m still trying to confirm the additional purchases required to upgrade from a legacy Ultrex. I’ve read from MK the boat deck bolt pattern is the same, but the mounting holes will have to be enlarged to 5/16” diameter. The more I look at the Quest, the more I question how the M360/TargetLock mounting plate will bolt on the the Quest. The pros running the Quest had a specialized L shaped mount for the 360. For those that have a TL and M360, an optional and more lift force gas spring is required to purchase.

If anyone knows the answers, I’d like to hear them.

I am talking about people that had to pay for theirs. The others I am sure are honest, but more likely to pass over some of the less than perfect things. Use over time will also show how good they are. JMO Bob

it has been stated that if you have an ultrex mega 360 you’ll need a different bracket for the Quest, not sure about target lock. Also I think for livescope users a different mount will be need as the shaft is square.

This looks like a retail customer boat. Maybe there will be some retail units available before fall. I’d like to have that installation manual.

Rich, If you are planning to use the “New” quick release mount which is stronger and designed for the new Quest motors. Put aside another $499.99! It does have a 10” slide back position(MKA 57) so your original boat cover will fit. Composite puck is $100 less. Both fit all the new Quest motors no matter the shaft length. Bob

Bob, thanks for this info. I had been sweating how I was going to mount my new Ulterra Quest trolling motor so that I could still get my Touchless Cover at my dock down... There isn't much clearance at the front of the boat. The 10" slide-back is just what the doctor ordered!!!

    Bob,

Considering the mounting holes kinda match what I already have, I’m not dropping any more cash on accessories for the Quest. MK has not answered multiple questions on the m360 and TL mounting. With the additional cost for these accessories plus the required addition of stronger gas springs, MK may just cost more than the PP Move. We will see.

They are all upping the anti in this unstable economy. The competition for our attention is not for bragging rights. If people will pay $125 Grand and up for a fishing boat on a 20 year mortgage they will pay a measly $6 G’s for a tricked out TM. JMO Bob

They do have a cheaper alternative, but it stipulated only up to a 52” shaft. That would concern me as it sounds less durable and is only a quick removal with no retractable position. Of course the motor can be bolted direct as well. All choices, but they have to fit into your needs. I would not go as far as deceiving, but If I were choosing I would put the $500 unit as the best all around choice. Advertising, Lawyers and Politics are all under a cloud of suspicion from my point of view. (Maybe a bit paranoid in my old age) Bob

Finally heard from MK on a couple questions I had.
    1. There will have to be a new mounting plate for the M360 & TL at an additional cost.
    2. The stronger gas springs are an additional cost. Don’t know if both springs need replacement or just one.
