    2001 Ranger R81VS Storage Options

Hey yall I have an 01 Ranger R81VS that I bought off of my future father in law and I have been trying to figure out the best way to store my tackle in the front middle compartment. I have tried searching online for some kind of premade organizer that would work but am having no luck. What makes it tricky is the compartment isnt flat nor square. I know there are some creative people on here so I figured I would pick yalls brains.

Happy to be on the forum and hope to learn alot.
    Thanks!

I use 3600 size trays. I use a small Rubbermaid tub from Walmart that fit the trays nicely. I use a worm binder and a couple of Plano worm bags for plastics/line/ect. In have a small square garbage can in the rear left corner with a plate of steel in the bottom to keep it from tipping and sliding. I like having a trash can. I also have a rubber/foam “pad” in each compartment that isn’t carpeted. Sticks to the compartment bottom and keeps the compartment quiet. I think the pad is meant to either be a doormat or a wash tub mat I can’t recall. I just cut them to size.

If I remember right, 3700s fit in there from side to side and a short stall adjustable shower curtain rod will keep them from sliding forward.

I too use a Tub I got at Walmart. I used an old towel and bunched it up to put under it to keep it level. Ben there for 23 years now. I actually use the starboard hatch for trays, works well. The center is for additional ones.

Cool deal I like the idea of a worm binder, didnt even know they existed haha. And I had thought about trying to put carpet in that middle compartment but I think the rubber mat will work better. Thanks for the ideas.

Here are some pics of my tackle setup. I keep it pretty simple and could carry more/less depending on my trip. The little gray holder on the left is a little cubby to put hardbaits in to let dry.

It’s just a rubberized foam Matt from Walmart. Just cut it to fit.
