overlook park sam rayburn

hey my texas bass friends going to sam rayburn over look park for two tx 23rd and 24th oct ,, any good palces to get a room there and what is the lake like never fished there before any info would be good like where to run and where not to run ,,

Man I am drawing a blank on overlook park? Anyways lake is down as I am sure you know, so running north can be tricky.

I think Overlook used to be Ebenezer, at the dam. Best rooms are in Jasper, not a far drive. Bass Buster Inn is right there on 255, I've never stayed there so I can't really comment. The lake is very low so watch out for shallow water. What little timber that remains will be showing.

I've always stayed at Bass Buster other than once we stayed at Rayburn Country for a CAST championship. Last time at Bass Buster was for the 2007 Tournament of ChampioNs. The rooms reeked of mildew and the beds were well past needing replacement. One of the guys I was with moved into the Holiday Inn in Jasper and paid less for a nicer room.
