    Nema 2000 Network

I have a newer triton 2-years old with a ghost trolling motor that came with two Elite 9 Lowrance units installed at the factory. One on the bow and the other on the console. I have active target 1 installed and I just recently added a Elite 7 to the bow . My question should my new addition of the Elite 7 on the bow should it be connected to the Nema backbone . It is connected with an either net wire to the network but I'm have some problems with my Ghost Trolling motor just curious thanks

It depends on the intended use of the Elite 7. If your reason for adding it was to view maps and if you have a Point1 to show boat heading, then yes you need it on NMEA 2000 network.

Your GHost only connects to NMEA 2000 backbone Ethernet has no role in the GHost. I assume your Elites are Elite FS and unless you have a NEP2 ethernet box installed you only have 1 port per unit so once you connect 2 units without the NEP2 you have not place to connect your ethernet on the 3rd unit.

Yes, you want all your units connected to the NMEA-network once you have it. If nothing else, just to keep your network tidy and not having to remember which units can do what across the network.
