I am looking at a Javelin with a 150 Intruder , is there anything special I should look at besides comp , and other normal stuff? It is a 1998 . Thanks Mike

Is it a Ficht Fuel injected engine? If so, I would skip.
If its a carb motor, do a nice warm compression check, I normal is around 90 to 105 psi I believe. More important is for it to be less the 15 psi apart on all the cylinders, and the bottom two should be lower then the top 4. I hope you people think that I know what I'm talking about, but really I don't have a clue.
If you can drive the boat, by all means get out and run around in it. I would pull the prop and check to make sure no line is wrapped around the prop shaft, and look for signs of any oil leaking around the prop shaft down there too.

thanks , it is a carb model I wouldn't buy I fict . Read to many stories about them, Is the intruder the fast strike version for evinrude?
Yes they are the same as far as I can tell, although I think some people claim one is faster then the other. I'm not really sure that is true, but I thought I'd post it anyway.
