    Passport to Mexico?

Does anyone know if i need a passport to visit Mexico? We are leaving for Amistad Saturday morning and thought about going across the border to get some food if you dont have to have a passport. Thanks guys.

YES do not even think about crossing the border without a passport. It is now a requirement for everyone to have one that crosses by land.

Right now I would stay out of the Mexico border towns, just get a bite to eat on this side.

Hey Jeff maybe we can dress up like preachers ourselves so then maybe they will let Stompy and Corky come fish with us.

I'm going to keep my eye on both of them at the rally Skip. One like to dress up and the other likes to dress up and use chains.

+4 on what Debra said ... Here is one of my favorites in Del Rio. Last time I was there was before Blondie died, but the food and entertainment was great! The whole family is musicially talented, so I bet the entertainment is still great.

There is no way I'd cross at any Southern border of Texas currently.

I take it, this isn't a group of Baptist crosssing the border. As the others have have mentioned you are taking your life in your own hands crossing into Mexico. Bullets can't distinquish a man of the cloth from anyone else.

Re: Passport to Mexico? (Tx Champ)

There is no way I would cross the border right now!!! The drug kings are killing the police and each other right now across the border. The drug guys stormed a police station just a short while back and beheaded the police chief and shot some cops. you absolutely have to have a passport to cross the border now. The law even says that if you're fishing there and step on the bank of Mexico, you have to check back in at the border crossing before even getting back in your boat. Like that's going to happen.

The Del Rio police chief issued a warning last week to all fishermen coming down there that they are having a big hit on fishing equipment now and have tried to step up patrols at the motels. That didn't help one of our tournament teams there last weekend. Someone climbed under their tarp and took what was left in the boat. The friends of ours took everything out except for their bulk bags of worms and their ice chest with their food and drinks. The thieves took those bulk bagged worms and thier ice chest. They are even stealing trolling motors now!! So, be careful and take EVERYTHING in the motel every time you get out of the boat.

On a side note, the fish are biting like crazy!! They are everywhere now and it's no problem to have a great day on the lake now. Be sure and fish shallow for numbers of fish and fish the ledges that drop off to 40' from 20' with a jig for the big girls.

Email me if you need some help with locations to fish.
