My 2012 Ultrex on a boat I bought last year will randomly not work with the foot pedal but if I put on spotlock will work. Head spins fine but pedal won’t move it in manually. I can run it with the remote. After five minutes sometimes ten it will suddenly start working and work the rest of the day and for the next ten trips, then out of the blue it does it again. Sometimes first stop of the day, next time after 10 stops. Any ideas?
Possibly the steering sensor in the foot pedal going out. On the earlier models the steering sensor was not a sealed unit so if it sat in water at all (especially common in a recessed foot tray) it would corrode. Yours sounds similar to mine although my problem was intermittent in only one direction. Remote would always work, even when the pedal locked up. A good MinnKota service center should be able to help diagnose and/or get you the part.

You're probably right about the year of trolling motor, I bought the boat used and previous owner said it was a 2012 but wasn’t sure. Thanks for info about the board
