    Ranger Bimini Top

Has anyone added a bimini top to their 521L? I have a 2021 Z521L and looking to get a bimini top to provide some shade for when the family comes along.

I’d like to do the same with my 520. I know Carver makes bimini’s for the Rangers, but I haven’t been able to find any pics of one installed on the boat.

I have one on my Z520C and on my previous Z520. It is well worth the price if fishing desert lakes and rivers.
It was custom made by a local company.
It folds out of the way and doesn't interfere when not in use. It's 10 to 15 degrees cooler under there.

This might seem tacky to some but it works great for our needs. I don't want a Bimini on my rear deck all the time. Or have a place to store it when removed. Not to mention relatively expensive and another thing to maintain.
I also fish 99% of the time by myself.

So those few times when I have family with me, I went this route instead. I picked up a spare seat post and this beach umbrella from Costco.

It was like $15-20 at the time. I cut off the screw end and it slides perfectly into the seat post.

I was shocked at how much cooler it felt underneath the umbrella. It has a tilt function. Height adjustment. Packs into a skinny bag. It's a tad too long for my rod locker so I strap it into the co-angle bungie strap. The umbrella easily covers my entire rear deck when deployed.

I have mounted these Bimini tops to every major bassboat as well of other boats. It's hot as the devil here in Texas.
A couple of tips here is to not mount them low where they look better as well as run down the lake faster and lay down on the back deck better.
Then the most important tip I can give you is not mount the anchor mounting bocks to where the top bows of the Bimini where they are right where the motor crushes the heck out of them as you trim up. That, and/or cracks the motor hood. Neither not pleasant to fix.
These are easy enough to remove in the rest of the seasons. I just mounted one on my rebuild of my TR-21, here is pix of mine, I think the Bimini Top doesn't have the boot on it that helps dress it up.

Oh, heck I got up really early this morning and I was having internet trouble. Let's try this.

    https://link.shutterfly.com/iLHl68Vmyrb

Heck this one may not either, I did post some pix of my boat on the Triton page you can see, if this doesn't work right. Should be two pix.
May be a limit to how many pix I can hang on here. I posted some in the forsale section this morning Also.
Heck I had one of my forsale post took down this past Friday for some reason and I am not going to be a problem here at all. Not me at all.
Heck with some of my long posts, I may be using to much paper on this forum lol.

I can help a lot of guys with my experience not only that I have quite a few parts for Johnson &Evinrude motors that are cheaper than what you pay at dealerships and that is if the have it.
So we will see what comes off lol

They are super simple to install. I think I bought this one from Carver. Great quality. I just took the dimensions and ordered it. I wouldn't own a boat without one. Takes two seconds to take off it you aren't fishing on a hot day.

This was on my old Ranger that I sold in 2016.

Our Champion 21 SX has one and it stores into the rear seat and buttons into the front windshield. Love it. We got stuck in a hail storm about a month ago with grape sized hail. Glad we had the bimini.

I do something similar but built a pvc holder for the umbrella that swivels around the rear seat post. That way my wife can still sit in the seat with the umbrella deployed. Our dog loves the shade too. Think of a U shape, the seat post slides into one side of the U, use a T fitting at the bottom, run a section of PVC to another T then have about a 24" vertical section that holds the umbrella. You can adjust sizes for correct fit.

I have a red 4' Bimini top with all the hardware and cover that looks like brand new. Came off my Champion 210 bass boat which I think was a 95" beam I'd sell cheap locally. 7046341720.

I've got one on my TR186. I keep it stowed in the mornings, but that puppy gets set up in the afternoons when temps are in the 90+ range. What a difference...

Sorry a bit confused, you are saying do not mount it low - what do you mean by this? I though they were a "set" size, ie you ordered a specific height ie Attwood lists 36", 46" and 60" in the various widths.

I can’t decide between umbrella’s or a bimini. Leaning towards the umbrella idea. Just for days sitting pan fishing and to keep the wife happy.
