I can’t imagine what type of converter you have as one isn’t needed,unless you’re using a wrong name for it. You can just replace the old batteries with three lithiums and do what you want or you can get a single 36v lithium. Some pictures of your set up would help us help you.
It is in a Nitro Z-9, 3 battery’s wired and goes into a box like and then to Fortrex 36v trolling motor, so either 3 12v or 1 36v would take care of my needs, what size 12v or what size 36v, what would be the best set up in your opinion

^^^^ It's going to be much easier if you just search through the forums on all of the battery threads and make a decision for yourself. What works for one person may not necessarily work for you. Or you could give someone like Andy a call at Drewcraft and let him give you some advice.
