    tough day on stillhouse

just thought i would let everyone know that my first tourney on stillhouse since coming home was a tough one. 8 teams winning weight 9.40 with big bass at 6.30. i stuggled all day with the rain and never seen that lake without any hydrilla.

Mike, I heard that Stillhouse was gonna be tough with the lake grassless. Hopefully this spring the grass will begin to grow back but that flooding did alot of damage to a great lake!

well like you know when your used to fishing a lake you know what to do. it was like fishing belton but everywhere you would think the fish would be they werent. the few i did find were unuasually deep. i caught them (lots of short fish) on a shakey head in almost 30 ft. everyone else that was fishing said they were catching them that deep too. the water is still in the high to mid 60's and air temp in the mid 70's even with the rain. its crazy ive never fished something that hard to adjust. im gonna get back out there this week sometime and hopefully i have better results after this weather front passes.

If you go to austinbassfishing.com, there is one guy on there that would disagree, the photos shown are of some good bass caught on 12-2-07.

Re: tough day on stillhouse (bgibson53)

Well the Day after the Tuff-man event on Stillhouse, there was an ABA event and it took 35.08lbs to win I was there I saw it. This past Sunday on Belton there was an ABA event and it took 21lbs to win that event trust me I saw it too I got third with 12.34lbs, but 21lbs on Belton is a huge sack and 35lbs on Stillhouse is huge. Lots of big fish being caught right now.

Wow 35 on Stillhouse!! I know there are some big fish there. Maybe with the lack of grass there they may now be in more traditional spots
