Hope everyone had a good weekend and has a GREAT Monday !!
Stop by and say hey at TexasBestFishing dot com.
Thanks for the coffee! There are no more good Mondays or weekends until I find out what is up with the blown motor and what I am going to do to fix it.![]()
Not to hijack the Monday coffee, but what would your thoughts be about selling a 200 Merc EFI and putting on a 225 or 250 Yamaha? Just thinking through options while I wait.![]()
Think I'll wait to take mine to Mike until he's through with yours ...![]()

At this rate, you have plenty of time to finish the tournament year, maybe get a good start on next year's schedule.
Yeah, but I want to wait until after those dollar signs quit flashing in his eyes!!![]()
Oh, just running a little below 5000 rpms when it loaded up like it was flooding out. Mechanic thinks the plastic worm gear on the crankshaft that turns the oil pump wore out and quit putting oil in the fuel. Computer read a low oil situation and pumped more fuel into the motor. No warning horns, nothing.
I stopped and checked the bulb, checked to make sure nothing was wrapped around the prop, checked to make sure the oil resreve was full, all good there. Started it up, she ran a little rough and then cleared out, got back up on pad and was thinking I needed to check the fuel filter when I got back to the ramp, must have been some trash in the fuel, but about 500 yards later, loss of power and when I pulled back on the throttle to shut her down she died with a clicking sound coming to a stop. I now have melted piston to one cylinder and five other cylinders with dry spark plugs.
Had been running just fine like always all day until she decided to die. Really caught me off guard. We will see the damage when it gets broken down to find the real cause. Say a prayer for me that somehow it will be a failure that insurance will cover. Just bought the eldest a car for college and am looking at tuition costs, really didn't need to put $6K into a new powerhead!!
