The weather was great (except for the wind) the fishing was wonderful. Caught fish everyday. Most days we were off the lake around 1:00pm because of the wind.
Biggest bass was a 5&1/2 lber on Tuesday. We fished Castle Canyon the entire time down there. Numbers were there, 20 to 40 fish a day. Martha and Bonnie put a whuppin on Skip and me a couple of days. But you talk about having fun.
The most important part was spending time with Skip and Martha, we enjoyed every minute down there.
Yep it was a great trip and the best part for us was having James and Bonnie to share it with. At least now I know I'm not the only man that gets beat by his wife. The wind blow like crazy while we were there but all the rest was fun.
That far for such small fish.....I feel honory this afternoon....got to joke about something...

No crowds at all. Could have fished anywhere you wanted to. Castle canyon might have had 4 or 5 boats in it. Didn't go anywhere else. But the parking lots were pretty empty. That was sunday evening thru thursday evening. Would i go back?YOU BET!
my dad and i went down there 3 weekends ago and we only got to fish one day because of the wind but we went to high bridge and we caught atleast 75 fish a piece on wacky rigged senkos and flukes ive never caught that many fish in one day in my life
I was there two years ago and threw a light rigged spinning rod with a PopR at some schooling fish at the dam and it turned out to be 10LB stripers schooling
The wind on that lake is always blowing.. Until about mid July when it gets so hot you can't breathe.......Then you can't find a breeze.
I have got into the sand bass and stripers on that lake several times. when you could catch one on nearly every cast, until we would just get tired of it ,or your hands would get so sore from taking them off the hook, You did not care to catch another one.
We got into the stripers one morning on top and they stayed up for at least 3 hrs...........Never saw another boat......had them all to ourself.
