Got the little woman home yesterday about noon. She was plenty ready to get home, too. She's not moving around very fast, but then she had about 7" of small intestine removed.
Dr said that the pathological study came back with all lymph nodes clean so this was caught before it became cancerous. That means no follow-up radiation or chemo.

She had gone for her annual exam and since she's over 50, Dr asked if she had ever had a colonscopy. She hadn't, so one was done. She had a couple of polyps removed that were benign, but the Dr saw some growths in her ileum, which is the last portion of the small intestine where it connects to the large intestine that he biopsied. Those came back pre-carcinoid (pre cancerous), which is what prompted the surgery. Now she's after me to get the old butt scope!!![]()
Good thing is that now she will have to stay on a low fat / high protein diet. We both need to do that anyway!
