With your computer hooked up and the key turned to the on position you should be able to recover any and all stored codes. But the diag software is only as good as the manual and technician operating it. I'd suggest you get a certified BFP DFI tech take a look at it. If you as him nice he may show you how to use your software to interpret what it is telling you. A little appreciation gesture on your part would go a long way. . Definitely pull a compression test to see if any internal damage may have been done.
You'll need to correct the no oil issue first though.

Re: oil fault lit up (ChampioNman)

Hi Champion, I hooked up the laptop this evening as it is extremely difficult to see the screen during the day. Turns out what i thought was a lit up oil fault was only a red colored indicator under the moniter section, each of the indicators is a different color and it looked lit up in the hard to see sunlight.
Under one of the choices I saw 0% hours run time without oil.
Under faults there are none, any and all were cleared by the last mechanic that worked on it. no intermitent either.
The engine seems to have a mis, a little rough. I just changed plugs, I wonder if I was a little sloppy on the indexing? would that make it run rough? Any tips? TIA

Gap them at .028 and get them within 90* either side of the injector.

As I found out gapping is very important to the Etec's. Mine ran rough and missed at 2500-3000rpms. Regapped the plugs and everything smoothed
    out like it should...

Same with my ficht, i put in new plugs in the spring, by mid summer they were way overgapped and the motor ran like crap, regapped them and they were fine.
