    Belton

OK, guys I know some of you have been on Belton. So what is going on out there, are they biting ? Do not need to know exactly what on and where just need depth and upper lower middle. I do not fish cow creek so that may narrow it down for the info. Anything will help.

    Thanks in advance guys.

    Re: Belton (Bass_cat)

Yep there is a bite. I have a couple'a friend's from Austin fishing a tournament here in a couple'a week's. Probably the same one you are but here goes. The lake is down pretty low right now 6' to 8' low best I can tell. An early morning topwater bite is good when there on it. Thing's that are working best right now are Spinnerbait's chart/blue/white best combo. A mid running crankbait in firetiger. For soft plastic's watermelonseed is best. I normally fish from Temples Lake Park to just above the flatt's. Right now it can be good one day and poor the next, not consistant. Start looking in the back's of creek's and cut's. Look for structure with timber around it. Hope this help's and my two retired cop friend's don't shoot me. Also Davec my friend is bigger than me. I may just be in trouble.

    Re: Belton (Skip)

I think your good because I am fishing a tourney out there this weekend. I have not been able to get on the lake because i have been prefishing for another tourney on a different lake and it is on Sunday. That was a great report, thanks for the info Skip. TPWD says the lake level is only about 2.5 low. Again thanks for the info.

Now Skip, you know you couldn't do anything to get on our bad side. Of course it wouldn't hurt to hold back a couple of those honey holes. The way I've been going I can go to the State hatchery and get skunked.

Rick just follow me and Bill on T day. We'll show you how to dropshot...

Skip, make sure you show Bill ALL the good spots. I'm his non-boater this month. The woman's insurance company STILL HASN"T looked at my boat yet...

Does a pain in the neck from her insurance company count?

    Re: Belton (davec)

I've been getting the drop shot down pretty good, I just can't seem to break that 14" mark. After talking to you at the last meeting I may just try using a little bigger bait on it. Since you're the drop shot king, I wouldn't mind some advice.

    Re: Belton (RICKT)

Yep I switched to bigger baits and the dinks are less often now. I still use 6# P-line fluroclear and Yamamoto size 4 split shot hooks, but use Super Flukes now. I will use a 4" worm as well, but the Flukes have produced better fish.

Dave - I got to thinking about it and if I remember your first msg about the collision, you said the lady's vehicle was struck by a vehicle and the momentum carried her vehicle into yours. If it was a continuous act, see if your insurance company will go after the original vehicle which started the chain of events. If it was such, then the original unit would be responsible.

Bill, that is the one I'm going after. I just hope the woman she hit isn't having such a hard time, her car was towed away...
