    help with software update on a helix 9 chirp mega si gps g3n

    I am Having problems updating to software 2.66 on one of my Helix 9 Chirp Mega SI G3N. After much exasperation, I discovered a discrepancy. It has version 2.18 installed. the chart below says that is for (gen2 DI).
    Any idea on how to update to the proper 2.66?

    READ and follow ALL the instructions for the update. The first part of the instructions state "Please note"

    just to clarify i have restored defaults. shut down then restarted. I dont touch it again until pressing exit on warning screen. insert sd card wait and wait no results on update. i have updated my other helix today with no problems.

    Did you install 2.280 first like the instructions state?

    Hate to point out the obvious, but you need to read the instructions as Wayne suggested. The first sentence there tells you why you are having a problem.

    I had thought I had accomplished 2.28 back when I first got my helix in 2020. I can remember having to do the base maps. Evidently it did not take. I apologize for my ignorance. thanks for getting me straightend out will go back and redo 2.28 and base maps.
