I'm probably gong to buy a 520 Ranger with a 225 Ficht next week. I already have a deposit on it. Motor has had no troubles and is under factor warranty until 12/05 . Does anybody know how much it would cost to buy the extended warranty or would you even consider it??? I was told that I could not extend the warranty through Evinrude but could do so through a secondary company but I have doubts as to how good those really are. What do you Rude guys think???
BTW it is a 2003 , has 300hrs on it and 22hrs are at WOT. Most are in the 4-4500 range and it was owned by a fisherman, not somebody running up and down the lake all day joy riding.

if you do get an extended warranty---make sure there is non-declining coverage--low deductible--also call the company itself---find out how they pay for repairs--do they issue the repair facility payment by c/card over the telephone or what---make sure the local dealer for evinrude will accept this warranty as well---can be a pain if you buy a warranty and nobody will accept it.
