    Sauger fishing around Perryville

I have done quite a bit of sauger fishing around Savannah/PW dam, but I have a trip from the Perryville marina on 1/16 and am looking for any help around this area. Does anyone fish the Perryville area in the winter? Thanks

Re: Sauger fishing around Perryville (MBarrons)

In the past I have caught sauger south of the marina opposite side of the river Just North of Cypress Creek where they dredge gravel off the river bottom the bottom contour is real up and down on the sonar. Caught them out of the deeper holes. If their catching them there just get in line and drift with the other boats.

Re: Sauger fishing around Perryville (ep72)

This will sound crazy, and I couldn't believe it... but me and a good friend of mine went Jan. 1 and caught 10 keepers. I always go on Jan. 1 as a tradition. The river was up and rolling but we found them in the mouth of a creek at Saltillo. They were great fish, 15-18 inchers, good fat ones too. IMO.. Saltillo is the best place on the river to fish for sauger. Do just like ep72 said, find the boats and join in.
