I think about that every time I have someone back me in. If it is steep at all, I leave the strap attached till tires are in water. You never know when your buddy is going to step on the breaks to hard![]()

I don't think it is that funny. My heart would drop to my stomach if I saw my boat in that position.![]()

If you ever heard the sound of your bass boat hitting the concrete that does make you sick to your stomach. Guy in club didnt keep his boat hooked up and it slid off trailer like the picture and boom/scrap..I have always kept my boat connected until my boat rear is solidly in the water then unhook.
I haven't seen it happen in person, but see the potential of it every time I go to a tournament. That sound of grinding fiberglass is enough to make me ....well you know...lose my lunch![]()

Looks like top notch ramp folly entertainment to me!![]()

Saw it happen just the other day. To make things worse, they just backed it in while it was dragging.![]()

Saw a runabout on the concrete at Leesylvania. Trailer had rollers though. Driver saw it moving off of the trailer but couldn't back up fast enough.

I don't know if the winch was out of gear or they're trying to get the boat back on the trailer, but the strap is attached.

I've seen it happen once and will always keep my front strap attached until my trailer tires are in the water. Agree with you on the buddy you have, they don't normally have a boat and may hit the breaks too hard.
I went salmon fishing a few years ago in Rogers City, Michigan with my brother and we watched a money and no brains drop a 27 footer off a roller trailer on the concrete ramp. Boy, did that screw up launching.
I have seen a bunch of guys pull their boats out the water with out the strap and have never understood how they made it up any ramp without that happening.
