    Potomac DC area?

Hey guys, need a little info on Potomac DC area only. Im not looking for fishing information but would like to know if the area has changed any since the new bridge was put up. I use to fish there back in the early 90s so Im familiar with that portion of the rive. However, I'd like to know if the spoils and fox ferry is still there and if you can still run the bank inside of fox ferry, next to the bank. Use to run the east (MD side) bank under the bridge. Is that still possible? Are there any other change like no wake zones or new hazards I need to be aware of?
    Thanks!

There is a new no wake zone in Smoots Bay near the new hotel. You can catch fish off the old bridge foundations and the new bridge. There was a no wake zone created around the bridge during construction, not sure if that is still in effect.

I think the river above the WW bridge may be 6 knots all the way up, just in case somebody in a bass boat may wish to do some malice to an elected official with it. The USCG runs very fast boats with fore and aft .50 caliber machine guns.

That will suck for the All-American tournament where they are limited to D.C. only waters

It is 6 mph in the channel immediately above the bridge to the end of the Alexandria waterfront(approximately where the old power plant sits). Probably a total of 1 mile or so. You can run the Maryland side if you know where you are going. The Washington Channel is also no wake.

Thanks! Looks like everything is the same except for law enforcement. I’ll be on a lookout. 50 boats fishing that area is not too bad. I’ve had some of my better days fishing in DC if you know where to go.
