    Need some lodging ideas

Hey there folks, I am getting transferred (US Coast Guard) this coming summer from Mobile, Al to Atlantic city New Jersey. Im running into issues. See my plan is during the drive up there in late june/early July. I have been looking for state parks either on the potomac or the upper chesapeake to stay for about 4-6 days that will allow me to have my dog. Most of the state park cabins I have found dont allow pets I would really like to stay at a park in a cabin and not mess with hotels for boat safety and other reasons. I have found one alternative and that was to board the dog at a local kennel and rent the cabin for a few days, id hate to do that but it may come down to it, if thats the case then i will do this on the upper chesapeake, as i have located a good kennel. Though id really like to spend a few days on the Potomac before heading over to Jersey.

So if any of yall know of any parks either on the Upper chesapeake or the potomac that allows a dog to stay in the cabins, please let me know. I need to find one ASAP due to that weekend being the 4th of july and cabins are booking up quick.

    Thanks

Re: Need some lodging ideas (goose)

Thanks John, Yeah i figured id try to get some experience on them since they are along the way to my new duty station. Id like to be able to fish around the middle potomac to just south of DC, or any of the upper chesapeake. I have looked at elk neck state park, smallwood state park along with a few others and none seem to be pet friendly. If i cant locate lodging, then ill just hang out in South Carolina fishing Lake Murray till its time to move in up there in Jersey. Thanks for checking on some things.

Hey Jay I just got a thought did you check out the Base at Quantico they may have something for you there to stay in & there's a ramp right on the base to put your boat in the river

If you want to fish the upper potomac for smallmouths, and a lake for largemouths, I can hook you up with the owner of a pretty amazing lodge.
