Time to get in the deer stand!

But I only have a 100 yards to get there from the garage.
The new Barnett Predator crossbow is getting sighted in today.

Here is the slide show of the construction and view of the food plots:

Lot's of tree rats over here. The acorns are so thick you can't keep from stepping on them when your walking.

Your going to need a test dummy next year to check it for bees. We usually use a tent and brush around it. It stays zipped up all the time, end of the season it comes down and can relocate maybe 50 yards over or whatever next year. Your blind looks great and well concealed, good luck Mike!

Mike that is such a good blind that I wouldn't be surprized if the deer start hiding in it too! - DC

I'm kinda counting on that! They have come within 6 steps (not yards) from the previous stand and I'm OK with that. With a bow, closer is always better for sure.

I do have a couple climbers if I go off somewhere else but it's pretty hard to do that if you can get dressed in the garage and walk out back??

Annual Kremling, Colorado private property elk hunt during Holloween weekend and no stand climbing there either. Just thin air. Pic's to follow.

Mike know what you mean about dressing in the garage and walking to your stand/blind! I canned 2 deer last night and froze some loins. So tonight think I'll be bow hunting one of my corn fields. Heck we are supposed to get snow tonight.

Good luck on your Elk hunt! - DC

John you can keep the snow over there! I didn't even have to get the shovel out here last year and I'm OK with that. No iced over conditions at the boat ramps either. I give most of the deer to the neighbors and keep a few straps for myself. The elk and mule deer fill the rest of the chest up with the tuna.

It's been snowing at 9500 feet where we hunt in CO for three weeks now so it should be pretty good by the time we get up there.

We don't have any feed in the woods. No acorns anywhere. But I have 40 acres of field corn! Took one last week with my bow. She had a corn cob hanging from her mouth. - DC

John I spread a 100 lb. bag of corn the day before I went in the Va. 5days later it was gone They dumped a full pick-up truck of apples 100 yards from where I but my corn 4 days there was knot even a core they sat on then 3 evenings just looking never seen a deer all feeding was after dark but they cleaned up everything there's nothing in the woods around here for them nether
The squirrels got a 3in. wide path from the woods to the barn to get in to the horse feed last month a bear got in and had a field day on the horse feed and bag of corn I had in the barn Joe forgot to shut the door
I did see a nice big deer come out right under my stand last night at dust to far to see horns but it was a huge deer
