Greeting from Kansas!
My father is heading to Grand Lake next weekend to visit some friends that live up in the Honey Creek area of Grand and I figured I'd try to find out what the fish are doing before he gets there. Its got to be about time that the fish move up into the willows isn't it? Any other thoughts? Also, are the white bass schooling up shad yet? Thanks
white bass are everywhere the willow fish are few and far between not much water in them at all.....
As Chuck said, The white bass are everywhere, with good numbers around Governs Island and Patricia/weed Island. Some days they school well others you have to catch them on a spoon or Little George.
There are a few Black Bass in the willows, but I think you will do better with a C-rig/ T-rig worm/ or jig on points in 8-15 feet of water.
The fish are biting. (catfishing is good too)he should have fun.

over the `weekend we caught 90 odd keepers up to 3lbs on dd22's and watermelon/rd or watermelon or chart pumpkin zoom finess worms with 1/16 oz wts all over drowning creek around docks any where from 1' deep to 20' most were in 6' 8' foot as the sun came up th e fish moved out off the banks or to the shady side of the docks we finished 2nd in our t w 12+

Those whites sure love that area around Patricia's Island, seems like they are always there.
