    I'm not going to bash the guy but at the end of the day you are responsible for operating your boat in a safe manner whether you are in a tournament or just cruising around. If the guy would have hit the docks further up with some kids swimming around it then it would be manslaughter or negligent homicide charges. Bass boats are great but they come with responsibility.

    You don't have to stretch it that far. Just think what could have happened if he had a marshal on board!

    True. I guess I was trying to sort of highlight that these tournaments are on public waters so it makes it much different than NASCAR which is conducted in a controlled environment with other competitors that accept the same risk.

    Not sure of the terminology but doesn't Rangers keel extend way forward before it starts turning up to the bow? I'm thinking this is the reason.

    I think maybe it's because Rangers don't run with a high lift. But that's just a guess .
