I'd like to gett NC BBC'ers thoughts on 4 models i'm looking at.
Not trying to start arguements or deep discussions. i'm trying to get the best used boat & motor for the money. I'm looking for Ride, storage, speed, mileage.
Thanks,![]()

Out of those 4 you can't go wrong in my opinion. If new then maybe factor in which dealership you like. If it is used look at the owner's care of it and the dealership that would service it.
Cant go wrong with any of them. I would investigate the motor real good though. Thats where you can get screwed quick.

As for resale down the road I would go with a Ranger. They hold their value best---Speed and storage i would have to go with a Phoenix------Ride would have to be a Ranger or Skeeter. If you want the best of all worlds take a look at a Bullet![]()
Used....how much? That will dictate age, size. Do you fish tournies and worry about contengency money? All this factors in.
If new, or close to new, I would say Phoenix hands down. I have been in new 721's, Skeeter FX 21, and a Ranger Z521. All of them...layout awesome. Ride...1) Phoenix, 2) FX21 3) Z521.
Used, 1990-mid 2000's Skeeter or Ranger. I just bought a 2001 Triton TR-19 and love the layout...hate the handling so far. I have some dialing in to do.
Take those 4 and pick the one you like the best, cant really make a wrong decision here.
Skeeter is the best of all worlds IMO, not as fast as the Triton or Phoenix but easy to drive, stable and spacious while fishing, and enough room to store more tackle than you could ever need.

I would say take a ride and maybe fish a little out of all of them, if you can. If you can't, I'm sure someone on the boards would take you for a ride in each. Then make your decsion. What may be great for some won't be for you.
I had surgery on L4 and still have two disk with issues heck last week I was having problems standing and walking. I know you have back issues and I bring this up because the ride is going to be a huge factor for you. I know this was number 1 for me next to stability. Since you are looking at used boats look closely at the motor and how it was cared for that will be a huge number 2.
In order based in my opinion
1 Phoenix wins hands down. My 19' boat rides better than most 21' boats if you want to check it out let me know. I have heard the same about their 18' model too.
2 Skeeter I have not spent much time in a Skeeter but it was number 2 on my list when I bought my boat this year.
3 Triton - I used to own Triton and loved the layout, but it was a beast to drive. It took me some time before I could run it WOT. The ride does not even compaire to the Phoenix
4 Ranger - great boat I have fished from several friends and like their boats, but it does take the wakes harder and I can feel it in my back.
All of the manufactures you are looking at build quality boats. You need ride in each model you want to find the layout that fits you best. Just make the Phoenix the last one you look at because once you get in one you will not want to look any further.![]()

In most everyone's opinion, their rig is the best, otherwise they would probably have something else. Every boat out there is the perfect rig for somebody.
